Detectors for Intruders Accompanying Authorized Personnel |
This sensor detects the intrusion of intruders illegally entering secured premises without passing though personal identification systems such as IC card or biometric identification by slipping in after a legitimate entry.
In this day and age, where demands are mounting for office entry management in response to the frequent incidences of information leakage, these detectors, used together with personal identification systems, will become indispensable for preventing, monitoring and controlling illegal entry. |

| Drive Trainer |
The Drive Trainer (sensor, camera and recording device in one medium) is a device that detects hazardous driving when the driver slams the brakes or abruptly turns the wheel, recording images immediately prior to and after detection. The device is commonly called a "drive recorder," but because of its reliability and its functionality as a driver education device, we at the Company call it the "Drive Trainer."We are selling this device primarily to companies with large fleets of commercial vehicles, such as taxi and transportation companies. |

Imaging Technologies |
This technology accumulates, processes and extracts imaging data by means of CCD cameras.
Currently the Company possesses the following imaging technologies and utilizes them in its products. |
| (1) |
Digital image recording technology: Digitally records images taken with the CCD camera. Compared to analogue image data, digital image recording experiences little or no deterioration, enables the storage of large amounts of data and is used for security and traffic-related products. |
| (2) |
Image sensing technology: Processes the images taken with the CCD camera, extracts images of intruders and suspicious individuals, and detects and extracts changes in colors and shapes. This technology is used for access control system, customer traffic counting system, and Industrial image sensor in our company. |
| (3) |
Imaging technology: Technology that allows clear pictures to be taken with the same camera, whether in sunlight or at night, regardless of lighting conditions. This technology is used mainly for our sensor cameras. |
| (4) |
Image transmission technology: Technology that allows images to be sent wirelessly or otherwise to distant areas. It is used mainly in security products. |

Indoor Sensor |
Human-detection sensors, mounted on ceilings and walls that detect intruders
These sensors operate by detecting the far-infrared rays emitted by the human body, consume minimal electricity and are long lasting.
Recent models are even more reliable featuring functions that can detect tampering and may be used as main sensors in existing facility security systems.
(Note: Although not permitted under Japanese law, indoor sensors using electromagnetic waves (microwaves) are also sold overseas.) |

Industrial Sensors |
General name for sensors used in production sites such as factories. The Company sells photoelectric sensors that detect the existence of objects, measurement sensors that measure the size of objects, industrial image sensors that check the shape/color and the manufacture date/lot number of objects, emission type thermometers that measure the surface temperature of objects without touching them, and other products. |
Infrared Technology |
Infrared rays refer to rays that belong to the 0.8 to 1.000 micron wavelength range, near the color red that have the longest wavelength among visible rays. This wavelength has been named infrared because it is directly beneath the wavelength for the color red. Infrared rays are widely used in TV remote controllers, heaters and cookware among other uses. OPTEX uses infrared rays in sensors to detect people and objects. |

Security Sensors |
Sensors used for security purposes that detect intruders in secured areas.
There are two categories of security sensors according to their use; indoor sensors and outdoor sensors. At OPTEX, we sell a wide variety of security sensors according to the installation site and environment; we have top market share in terms of the number of sensors sold in the global market. |
Sensing Technology |
Technology that detects changes and differences in people, objects and temperatures. The Company uses its infrared technology, electrowave (microwave) technology and imaging technology as basic technologies to develop its various products. |
Sensor |
General name for detectors. In addition to its infrared sensors, the Company has recently added imaging sensors to its product line-up. |
Sound Protection |
A system that threatens and drives away intruders with not only light but also with sound. This enables warnings against intruders in broad daylight. |
